SoCoDivka Designs offers a line of one-of-a-kind and very limited edition, handmade jewelry made from antique, heirloom, estate, and vintage materials as well as modern and vintage-inspired finds — inspired by mid-century modern, ’50s Lucite, Bakelite, Celluloid, Bohemia, and whimsy. SoCoDivka Designs was founded in Austin, Texas, in 2009, by Shanna Pharis.

Jewelry is a natural fit as a way to express my creativity– it’s one of the things I have loved and collected my whole life, beginning with a childhood love of my Czech grandmother’s costume jewelry and playing in my mother’s jewelry box. In my childhood, friendship bracelets made from embroidery floss were all the craze and I made dozens and dozens, and in college, I learned to weave natural hemp fibers and made necklaces and bracelets to share with friends.
“SoCo” comes from the South Congress area of Austin, where I have lived for many years, and “Dívka” is a Czech word for “girl” or “gal.”
